March 8, 2002, Newsletter Issue #66: Fun in Nevada

Tip of the Week

Nevada is one of the least populated, and most mountainous states, so it is a hiker`s paradise. About 85% of the state is public land and there are over 200 forested mountain ranges.

Nevada also offers great bike-riding experiences...from the Tahoe Flume Trail to the Red Rock Canyon area near Vegas.

There are more than 100 golf courses in the state, including 50 within two hours of Las Vegas.

Northern Nevada has ample opportunity for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports.

Check out Indian Territory Celebration events on the web (site at the bottom.) Visitors are encouraged to attend pow-wows to learn about tribal culture and traditions, enjoy dancing, purchase crafts, and sample native foods.

Nevada boasts dinosaur and archeological sites, wildlife refuges, rodeos, caves, houseboat rentals, gold mine tours, drag racing, "cowboy" ranches offering rent-a-steeds, hot air balloon rides, botanical gardens, art museums, and more, more, more!
