Seasickness have you worried? Most modern ship feature a stabilizer to even things out. These aren`t your old war ships anymore! Dramamine and similar medicines are effective for most people, as is the "patch", which you may get from your doctor. It is recommended to be used prior to boarding, so some pre-plannng is necessary. If it`s too late to pre-plan, and you`re queasy, try these ideas:

- drink carbonated beverages which add fluids to the body and help settle the stomach.

- green olives, dry crackers or green apples help slow the flow of saliva and that helps to settle the stomach.

-don`t read. If you try to focus on something while in motion it might make you feel more imbalanced.

- Inhale deeply when the boat rolls up; exhale when it rolls down.

** I`ve been on a few 7 day cruises, in the Caribbean and around Hawaii, and found on average, you can expect one "livelier" day of waves. The Captain is aware of storm systems and will do all his power to skirt around them, hug land, or even skip a port to protect his passengers.**
