The Mall of America is more than a mall; it`s almost a resort. Shopping, entertainment, lodging, and activities make this "mall" a tourist destination in and of itself. Many midwesterners fly in for a day trip. Area hotels often offer shop-and-sleep packages. When in town, check it out even if you`re not in the mood to shop.

Popular watering holes: Gluek`s downtown...Great Waters Brewing Company across from the Landmark Center...the trendy Loon Cafe...the Rock Bottom Brewery which offers 5 of its own microbrews...William`s Pub, with the largest selection of beer in Minneapolis- 300 varieties of bottled/80 kinds on draft.

Dance/Nightclubs: Barney`s Underground...Gators in the Mall of America...the Quest Club, formerly owned by the artist formerly known as Prince...Tropix, the largest dance club downtown.

The Guthrie Theatre, the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Opera...there`s no excuse to be bored in the Twin Cities.
